Get to know us
Pregnancy Osteoporosis UK was established by women diagnosed with PAO - some recently, others decades ago - alongside a dedicated group of specialists and clinicians. Our mission is to raise awareness, provide support, and ultimately enhance outcomes for women affected by PAO in the UK.
We are an all-volunteer charity, registered in the UK, #1210474.
Our mission
We are here to support and empower mothers and families affected by Pregnancy Associated Osteoporosis (PAO). Through education, advocacy, and community, we aim to improve awareness, diagnosis, and care for this rare condition.
Our vision
A future where every mother with PAO receives timely diagnosis, expert care, and the support they need to live well. We are dedicated to making PAO more recognised within the medical community and beyond, ensuring no one faces this journey alone.
Our values
Support
We provide guidance, information, and a compassionate community for PAO mothers and families.
Advocacy
We raise awareness and drive change to improve medical understanding and care for PAO.
Collaboration
We work alongside families, healthcare professionals, and researchers to advance knowledge and solutions for PAO.
Empowerment
We amplify the voices of those affected by PAO, ensuring they play a key role in shaping our work and the future of care.
Together, we are building a stronger, more informed community for PAO.

Charity Flower: Osteospermum
What’s in a name? The Osteospermum - also known as the Cape Daisy - was chosen as the charity flower for its subtle nod to osteoporosis, the condition at the heart of the cause. With its striking shades of blue and purple, it symbolises cheerfulness and hope. For PAO mums, it serves as a gentle reminder that beauty and joy-filled days lie ahead, even when the road to recovery feels long.

Awareness
Empowering those affected by PAO through information, support and advocacy.
